These are the tools I reach for day to day, whether I'm building interfaces, prototyping ideas, or shipping production code. My approach is mobile-first by default, with a strong emphasis on writing clean, considered code.
I write code in Visual Studio Code, with GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted suggestions and Live Server for real-time previewing. Prepros handles SASS compilation and asset management; BrowserStack covers cross-browser testing. Claude AI is a constant part of my process — supporting code review, logic checks, and quality assurance.
Accessibility isn't an afterthought — I validate against WCAG using the WAVE Accessibility Toolbar, Google Lighthouse, and the Colour Contrast Checker. See my Accessibility Statement for more detail on how I approach this.
For version control and deployment, I typically use GitHub, often paired with FTP Deploy Action and VentraIP for hosting — the same stack behind this site, which is a handcrafted static build with every line written by hand. Additional plugins used to extend functionality are listed below.
Since my first website in 2000, these people have shaped how I see the web — and how I build for it. Their influence shows up in my work whether I realise it or not.
